In 2004 my son Douglas and I purchased a racing Aston Martin DB2/4 Mark
1.
David Reed helped us sort out the brakes and kindly came to a Goodwood
track
day to give hands on instruction. We were then able to start racing in the
AMOC series. David changed the front drum brakes to discs and made it
more streamlined while still able to keep it in
the basic A1 competition class. In this car, Douglas won the AMOC UBS
Historic and overall racing competition in 2007 after only two seasons of
racing.
In 2005 we bought an additional mark 2 which developed brake
and fuel supply problems and severe engine failure. During 2006 David
gradually sorted out all the problems, made it lighter and more
competitive
and gave us great racing in 2007.
Doug and I, along with Colin Campbell took part in the 50s Team event, the
DB Devils, and came third overall in the competition - the leading Aston
team in the competition.
David helps us with transport to the race meetings and provides
constant mechanical support for our two cars. He has even driven to our
house on his motor bike (100 miles each way) to carry out emergency
repairs
and keep us racing.
He has ideas for the further development of the mark 2's
axle ratios which may allow Douglas to be the leading car in the A3
moderately modified class in the 2008 season.
When you are dealing with Davron, you are tapping into an huge wealth of
racing experience enjoyed by
the Reed family over many years.

Thank you again for "a new car"!
Not only polished and tooth brush tickled to showroom condition - now the
car is how I wanted it to be since I bought it seven years ago ....
I am really impressed with the new handling, the remarkable improved torque characteristic
of the engine and the dramatically increased braking potential.
On the "Autobahn" at true (GPS) speed of 145 km/h you can drive the car with
one hand - without any problems. The changes are quite impressive and I am
very glad about them!
Now it is a real joy to play with this wonderful toy - after some years of
real frustration ... Thank you again.
