![]() Snetterton - June 30th 2007 We expected a day of torrential rain but got away pretty lightly. Numbers on the grids were down but there was some good racing. Race 1 - AMOC UBS Aston Martin Championship Classic race was won by Charlie Kemp in a DB4, with Nicholas King (DB4) 2nd and Pete Foster (DB4) 3rd. Christopher Scragg in the AMV8 shown above came 4th. Race 2 - AMOC UBS Aston Martin Championship Historic race was won by Nick Ruddell (DB2 Mk II) with Doug Barker (DB2/4 MkII) 2nd and Jim Campbell (AM Mk II) 3rd. The Reed's DB2 had engine vibration following a spin by Anne on the test day, rather than risking the new engine it was decided to withdraw following practice rather than risk further damage. Anne's in the doghouse! Race 3 - Super GT Race saw the return of Dave Ellis in his wonderful looking GT700R AMV8. Unfortunately his diff seized during practice sending him off the track. The damage was too much to be able to fix for the race. Bilton won the race in a Porsche 997 Cup, with Mark Ticehurst 2nd in his Porsche 935 and Witt Gamski 3rd in a Ferrari 360 Challenge. Richard Chamberlain in the Porsche 935 above was well ahead when he got a puncture. Race 4 - Rawles Motorsport Austin Healey Club Championship was won by David Smithies in an AH 3000, with Marc Campfield 2nd in a Frogeye Sprite and Robin Lackford 3rd in a Frogeye Sprite. Race 5 - AMOC Intermarque Championship was won by Charlie Kemp in a DB4, with Nicholas King 2nd in a DB4 and Robin North 3rd in a Ford Mustang. Race 6 - AMOC 50's Sports Car Team Challenge was won by David Smithies in his Austin Healey 3000, with Tim Pearce 2nd in an AC Ace Bristol and Nicholas Ruddell 3rd in his AM Mk III. Race 7 - was the Pre-War Sports Car Team Challenge. I did not get the results but did get some pictures earlier. It was great to see the Lagondas and the bentleys The Barkers, who were joined by family and friends, had a great day with Doug coming 2nd and 4th in his 2 races. Father Graham getting a 5th and a 14th. Lunchtime was a good opportunity to catch up with fellow competitors It was great to see David and Owen Witham, who used to be regulars in Area 13 before they moved away to Norfolk joined us.
