![]() Restoration of a DB2/4 Mk III If you have been following the progress of this car, you can go straight to the last photo. The car when it first came in Taking the car to pieces. The bodywork at the beginning. The paint being taken off the bodywork. Note the steel door panel found under the paintwork. Dents and abrasions found in the usual places. Chassis now painted and rebuilt front suspension going in. Components painted for re-assembly. Clocks removed and being restored. Re-conditioned back axle all in place. Starting to fit the bulkhead components back in. Cleaning off the interior floors. Refitting spare wheel tray. Removing the old wiring loom. Refitting rear lights. Fuel tank fitted. Tunnel repaired and fitted. Doors assembled and side windows re-fitted. More bulkhead components and wiring being fitted. Dashboard and clocks all back, including the wiring behind it. Rebuilt overdrive and gearbox. Rebuilt engine ready for refitting to the car. Rebuilt gearbox with reconditioned over-drive. Engine and Gearbox now reinstated into the chassis. Front brake calipers and brake reservoirs refitted along with new brake pipes etc Brake servo fitted. Trim being fitted. New head lining. Retrimmed Recaro seat for rallying. Stainless steel exhaust system fitted. Heat wrapping to keep heat away from the driver and passenger. Retrimmed dash back in place. Dashboard clocks going back in. Side pods and splash panel being fitted. Car now back on its wheels. Chrome strip and aston badge back on the bonnet Seats and trim in. Bar for the seatbelts and to be used with adjoining clips for ratchetting down items in the boot to prevent them moving about. Photos - David Reed
